Monster Arena Information
The Monster Arena Keeper will ask you to capture certain types of creatures for him so that he can make new and unique monster creations. Below are lists of the creations that capturing enough monsters will unlock, including the creation's name, what monsters are required, what items can be stolen from them, and drop rewards, as well as what award you get for unlocking the creation and the quantity of the award item. There is also some information on what attacks and defenses the Monster has.
The key to these battles is preparation, perseverance, and consistency. For those who rely on luck to win, such as strategy will not avail you here. Of course, the best thing that one can do is to properly prepare you for the battles up ahead. The HP amounts are not exact, but should give a general idea of when the battle is about to end. The drops may also vary slightly from time to time.
The most important abilities to learn, are including, but not limited to: Auto-Life (or Auto-Pheonix), Hastega (or Auto-Haste), Auto-Remedy (or Ribbon), and Break Damage Limit. Of lesser priority are Break HP Limit, Auto-Shell/Protect, and anything-Proof armors. Also, for certain battles, it will be less of a headache if you have properly trained Aeons, so teach them what they might need to know. (Can be checked in the Aeon Abilities section)

The "Rare Drop" is not given, because the rare drop for all Arena monsters is Dark Matter. You receive one for a normal kill, and two for overkill, regardless of the amount that the normal drop gives you. To receive overkill against Arena Monsters, you must deal 99999 damage with the killing attack. Any less damage and it will not overkill.

When it has a turn, it will take a step, and takes three steps before it stops, and begins cutting you with a knife, indicating his Physical attack. Its primary form of attack is Pharaoh's Curse, which can cause Darkness, Poison, Curse, and Silence, and can use magic freely. Attacks do half damage, and Magic does full damage, but when the chest is open, all attacks do full damage. |

Fangs of Chaos do the least damage, but they have a very high Accuracy, and cause Confusion. When it uses Fangs of Ruin, it does not cause status ailments, and is essentially the same as a normal attack. Attacks do full damage, and Magic damage is negligible.

One of the easiest enemies to defeat, yet it has good Evasion. Spellcasting is brought to a needless necessity, as it comes equipped with Auto-Nul-All, and Auto-Regen, so every turn counts. A unique opponent. Like all Flans, it enjoys the use of Magic, and brings it to a whole new level. The entire battle is dominated by the exchange of Magic casting, as it is completely Immune to Physical attacks. Most Magics are also disabled, because it absorbs all Elements, including Holy, and even has its own Auto-Reflect aura. Since normal attacks are disabled, achieving an Overkill is difficult, to say the least, which will slow your Magic growth. The key is either setting up Reflect, and using Flare, or Doublecasting Ultima, which ignores Reflect. The most fear inducing of all the properties has yet been unsaid: you will be watching the animation for Ultima over and over and over, and it can get boring fast. If you wish, you can instead use Flare, with Magic Booster and One MP Cost, aided by a large Magic stat that will cause 99999 damage. A slow moving, and long battle, it is Immune to attacks, and only Magic deals full damage. If you missed Kimahri's White Wind Ronso Rage, learn it here. |

Another Magic opponent, but fortunately, it is rather unlike the Jumbo Flan, and it is not Immune to normal attacks. However, whenever hit by a normal attack, it counters with Ultima. Oddly enough, for a Magic caster, it does not employ Doublecast, and uses its first turn to cast Reflect. Most Magic is rendered useless, because it too, can absorb all elements, like the Jumbo Flan. Attacks and Magic do full damage.

Yes, they are called Helms. It primarily attacks with Physical attacks, and has strong Defense. Fortunately, it is susceptible to Armor Break. It has two primary forms of attack, Attack (ironically enough), causes the target to go Berserk, and Rush Attack, which at first, hits two characters. For each successive turn that passes that it is not killed, it begins to attack more characters with the attack, going from two, to three, then even attacking four times in one turn. Attacks do half damage, and Magic damage is negligible.

Fafnir is definitely an interesting enemy. It has many of the properties of a Helm, yet can attack with Elemental/Magical damage. It is also can be hit by Armor Break. It has two attacks, a normal attack, and Triple Attack, which does this in the following order: attacks normally, unleashes an area attack that does Elemental damage to all enemies, then attacks again. The second attack's element is dictated randomly, out of the choices of Fire, Thunder, and Blizzard damage. Otherwise, it should be easy to bring down, and even easier if you equip yourself with Element Absorbing armors. Attacks do half damage, and Magic does full damage. This devious abomination will counter all your attacks with Goodnight, which causes Poison, Berserk, and Sleep. If you wake up before you die of Poison, then your character will automatically attack again, inducing another lethal dose of drugs to the unfortunate targets. It also comes with an Auto-Regen, which is used at the start of the battle, healing it, while you are dying in your sleep. If it wants to be creative, it will even cast Ultima, when it has a turn, assuming you are still affected by Goodnight. An Aeon is a must in this battle, unless you can equip Ribbon.

Unlike the King's subordinates, it does not come equipped with packages of C-4, or self-explosion devices. And further unlike them, its normal attack is not fire based. However, it does use Fire, Fira, and Firaga, and grows based on whether or not it has been hit between its turns. If not, it will use a fire spell or attacks if it is still small. If it is at its largest, it will begin using Ultima. Attacks and Magic do full damage, except fire based spells, which do full damage, but heal the Bomb King. The Bomb King is not a Terrorist, nor is it Osama Bin Laden. If you missed Kimahri's Self-Destruct Ronso Rage, learn it here. |

When not killing you, it uses Charge, giving you some respite from its relentless attacks. On the next turn, it uses Salvo, a strong area attack. Besides these moves, its offensive arsenal isn't very varied. Attacks and Magic do half damage. If you missed Kimahri's Fire Breath Ronso Rage, learn it here. |

The most difficult of all of the Species adversaries, and in certain cases, more difficult than some of the Original Creations. A balanced adversary, in all areas. Its primary form of attack is Reppageki, which is essentially a normal attack. It also uses this to counter any of your attacks, but its Accuracy is low. Buhzisnan is another one of his attacks, but this one causes less damage, in exchange for siphoning all of your MP from you, and dealing damage over an area. Osmose is useless, as it has no MP to take, but instead, use Ethers to recharge MP. The other attack that it has is Shinryudan, which always does damage, and does more damage than Reppageki, but it is rarely used. It is susceptible to both Armor and Mental Break, but it can still randomly reduce damage done, and one never really knows if Armor Break has taken effect. Attacks and Magic do half damage. |

Unlock Bonus: | Three Stars x60
The first of the Original Bosses, and one of the most difficult. Similar to the Chocobo Eater in most respects, except this time, you are not going to hit him off a cliff. In the first phase, the Eater is standing, and if you attack it, it will counter with Megaton Punch, which will either instantly kill you, or cause massive damage. Causing 100,000 damage will knock it down on its back, where weapons and magic will do more damage, but not by much. When down, it has Auto-Reflect, and it will counter every attack by casting Flare on itself, bouncing off of the Reflect, and hitting you. It cannot be dispelled. A good deterrent is to cast Shell, to reduce the Flare damage, assuming you can survive it. Attacks do half damage while up, and full while down. Magic damage is always negligible.

The second of the Original Monsters. Greater Sphere is nearly the same as the Spherimorph, except that it does not change elements. Rather, it absorbs them all, including Holy, and counters every attack made on it with Ultima. When given a turn, will either use Hydraulic Press, which does physical damage to all characters equal to your maximum HP, or it uses Press, which will injure a character physically, as though it were a normal attack. Attacks and Magic do full damage.

The third of the Original Monsters, and quite difficult if you head on face to face, but it is food against an Aeon. At first, it begins as though it were another Sinspawn Genais or Geneaux, having two distinct forms, one inside the shell, and one outside. This one uses very painful attacks while inside the shell, and does not have any special armor statuses to break. In the shell, if it gets a turn, it uses Toxic Cloud, which causes Confusion, Curse, and Poison, and is not a physical attack, so it will not be curing Confusion anytime soon. But against an Aeon, it does not take action. After dealing 450,000 damage, it changes to its true form, and now has an attack pattern. The pattern goes Toxic Spray, which does damage and a low chance of causing Poison, then Demi, and then Hundred thorns, which causes randomly heavy area damage to all enemies. Against an Aeon, all of these attacks will have less effect, especially Hundred Thorns. Attacks and Magic do full damage.
Th'uban | HP | Cost | AP Bonus |

Unlock Bonus: | Gambler's Spirit x99
The fourth of the Original battles. Like Catastrophe in its true form, Th'uban has an attack pattern, when it receives a turn. First, it uses a normal attack, then Rainbow, which does heavy damage over an area, and causes Curse, Confusion, Sleep, and nulls the effects of Haste and Slow, and finally, it will use Convergence, which deals 99999 damage to one enemy. Th'uban is also very defensive, attacking with Condemn, a physical area attack when attacked, and even casting support Magic on itself, mostly Shell and Protect. Attacks and Magic do full damage.
Neslug | HP | Cost | AP Bonus |

Gambler's Spirit | Friend Sphere | Pendulum x1 (x2)
Unlock Bonus: | Winning Formula x99
The fifth of the Original Creations, a three form beast. Neslug's first and third forms are very similar, except two major differences: the third form's attacks have a much higher rate of doing 99999 damage. In these two forms, Neslug will use a normal attack, which does random damage, Megaton, which causes Poison, Curse, Armor and Mental Break, and causes heavy damage. It also uses Slime, which dispels Haste, and does damage to all enemies. The second form is the most painful of the three, where it recedes into its shell, and begins a long process of healing itself. During the time, it is Immune to Physical attacks, like Jumbo Flan, and it has Auto-Regen, which heals for large amounts at a time, and whenever it receives a turn, it uses Curaga. The three forms require that it take at least 2,000,000 damage, then 1,400,000 damage (700,000, but Regen will heal that much during your attempts to attack it), then a final 800,000 damage. Attacks do full damage, except second form, when it is Immune, but Magic always does full damage.

Gambler's Spirit | Level 3 Key Sphere | Winning Formula x1 (x2)
Unlock Bonus: | Dark Matter x99
The sixth of the Original Creations, an enemy similar to Sinspawn Gui, with four separate parts, including Arms that regenerate every three turns. When the head is active, Ultima Buster's attacks do slightly more damage, and when given a turn (listed as monster A, not Boss), it will move suspiciously, and then on the next turn, unleash Contamination, which causes Zombie, Poison, Confusion, and Full Break on one enemy. To stop this attack, simply kill it, and it will not bother you for the rest of the match. When the arms are active, they will shield the main body from physical attacks, and have an Armored Status. When the arms and head are disposed of, unleash a furious assault on the main body. When given a turn, Ultima Buster will use Ultima, or a normal attack with its feet. This battle is simple and straightforward, despite the multiple enemies. Attacks do full damage if no Arms are present, and Magic always does full damage. Only Wakka can hit the Head with a normal attack. The Head/Arms do not give AP, even with many Overkills. |

The seventh of the Original Creations monsters. This battle is fought underwater, and as such, only Rikku, Wakka, and Tidus may participate. Shinryu has a surprisingly low amount of HP, so turn this battle into a race to the finish, if you can. None of Shinryu's attacks will hurt too much, as it only uses three attacks. A normal attack, which it uses to counter all attacks made on it, Shining, which does random amounts of damage to all three characters randomly, and Eraser, which turns a character to Stone. Eraser essentially removes a participant from battle. But otherwise, it shouldn't be too painful. Attacks and Magic do full damage.

The last of the Original battles, and unlocked after the other seven are disposed of. This could be a very long battle, but well deserved, if you fight manually. There are only four attacks that Nemesis uses, but that should not stop you from taking every precaution, such as Haste and Auto-Life. It uses a normal attack and Ultra Spark, an attack that does approximately 30,000 damage to all enemies and causes Curse, Poison, Nulls Haste, and Power Break. It also employs the use of Ethereal Cannon, which causes heavy damage to one character, and Armageddon, an attack that causes 99999 damage to all three of your characters. Protect your characters as necessary, and don't let Nemesis get many turns, by using Quick Hit when possible. Attacks and Magic do half damage. Two words: "use Zanmato".
