Katamari Damacy... For the love of all that is good in decent on this world, go out and buy this game RIGHT NOW. It's a mere 20 dollars, for PS2, and is one of the most awesome games I've ever played...
I picked it up yesterday on account of all the praise Jeremy Parish has been giving it over the past few months, and it certainly has not disappointed me. The first three main levels were little more than a warm-up, and the fourth was where things got really difficult for a while as I tried to clear the game's first really challenging goal. After that, the game really picked up speed as the potential for expanding the ball by rolling up larger and larger objects became much more ambitious, and the game's true shining point became revealed: knocking over human beings who are fleeing in terror and then rolling them into the katamari, all while listening to their horrified screams.
A game about rolling your surrounding objects into as large a clump as possible within a certain time limit sounds terribly simple, but, while it certainly is, the play mechanics, cleverly complex level and object design, and superlatively catchy music make the experience incredibly and consistently fun.

I was on top of this before it came out. I bought it on its debut day, and I love it.
